What We Do

We envision a world free of childhood lead poisoning.

LeRA designs and implements research studies that enable the prioritization and elimination of major sources of lead exposure. We work with governments and mitigation-focused NGOs, providing decision-relevant data to unlock solutions to childhood lead poisoning around the world.

Our Approach

1

Research Design

LeRA develops research protocols in line with partner organizations' programmatic objectives and methodological expectations.

2

Local Implementation

LeRA identifies, hires, and trains qualified in-country researchers; co-ordinates fieldwork; and provides real-time quality assurance.

3

Actionable Insights

LeRA analyzes findings and delivers clear, tailored insights to mitigation-focused partners to inform programmatic and advocacy decisions.

Research Methodologies

LeRA has the capability to design and implement a range of cost-effective methodologies that characterize context-specific sources and solutions to lead exposure.

Market-based lead content studies

Actionable insight: characterize new sources of interest to inform government action or NGO country programs

Risk assessments and leachability studies

Actionable insight: investigate and  quantify potential impact of lead exposure sources on humans

Supply chain tracing

Actionable insight: pinpoint potential intervention points and determine tractability of mitigation

Home-based lead exposure assessments

Actionable insight: understand exposure sources in home environments and deploy questionnaires to assess lifestyle risk factors

Environmental contamination analyses

Actionable insight: quantify and map environmental contamination arising from high-risk industries such as ULAB recycling

Lead content monitoring

Actionable insight: monitor changes in lead levels in consumer products to evaluate impact of an intervention

Partner With Us

LeRA is interested in partnering with NGO, government, and other research partners working towards the elimination of childhood lead exposure in low- and middle-income countries. We would be excited to discuss opportunities for collaboration on research studies that would be informative for your strategic direction and contribute to the achievement of your programmatic and research objectives.
